Colin Guest is a retired 75-year old Englishman married to a Turkish lady and living in Istanbul, Turkey. Since starting his working life as an apprentice joiner/shopfitter in Plymouth, Devon, England, he worked his way up to first a foreman, and later a supervisor, project supervisor, finishes advisor and head of a quality control team on a 52 storey luxury apartment block. Over the course of nineteen years, he has worked with both architects and interior design companies. Colin recently took part in a live interview radio show organised by RRBC that took pace in America, as well as having a few online interviews re his memoir. He has done a one hour podcast re his memoir, with an article re this published in a newspaper in his hometown of Plymouth, Devon, England, and also had a number of articles published in online magazines.
Colin’s memoir is with a large media company who have now completed preparing an adaptation of it. They think could be used as the basis for a television series, and will send it to a couple of producers to see if they think it a viable proposition. Thanks to his joining several writing organisations plus several expat organisations, Colin has gained considerable interest and publicity re his memoir and writing.
Apart from writing, Colin has worked as a volunteer at three wildlife rescue/rehabilitation centres, two in South Africa, and one in Thailand. This for animal lovers, he recommends as an alternative to a normal holiday.
