Terror on the streets

As an Englishman who has been living in Turkey for the past 25 years, I am appalled at the situation re Turkey and migrants. Why does Europe seem to hold Turkey responsible for this terrible and unfortunate situation. One has to look no further than Merkel’s totally irresponsible statement saying. “All migrants who reach our borders will be welcome.” It was this that one crazy statement that led to hundreds of thousands of people living in a variety of countries to leave and head for Germany. Now that it is too late, the German government appears to be saying they will return all migrants who have not come from Syria. It is a great pity for all concerned that Merkel did not say this before opening the floodgates, and giving hope to countless numbers of people. It is therefore Merkel’s problem to resolve not Turkey, who already has over 2.6 million Syrians living in camps set up in Turkey. It is I think due to all the thousands of immigrants passing through Turkey that has resulted in numerous terrorists entering into the country and then passing into Europe, carrying out attacks in Turkey, but also in Paris and now in Belgium.

My deepest sympathy goes out to all the families who lost loved ones and to all those injured. Unfortunately, Muslims are being blamed for these attacks, although these terrorists are killing far more Muslims than foreigners. Religion is just being used as a reason to kill indiscriminately, no matter race or religion.
